How to edit workflow in Jira

Here is a quick guide on how to edit workflow in Jira:

  1. Navigate to the right Jira project in the left side panel, click on the three-dot menu and select Project settings.
  2. Navigate to the Work items and choose the work item to edit the workflow.
  3. Click on Edit workflow in the top right corner.
  4. You will see the scheme of the workflow. Here you can Add status. Statuses capture the stages of your working process. Add more statuses to represent different stages in your team's process.
  5. Add transition to connect statuses. They represent actions people take to move issues through your workflow. They also appear as drop zones when people move cards across your project's board.
  6. Add rules to streamline your team's process by limiting when your team can use a transition or by automatically performing an action when they do.
  7. Click Update workflow to save. Choose other work types if you want to apply this workflow to them too.
