How to create epic in Jira?

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create an epic in Jira:

1. Create a work item of a correct work type — Epic.
2. If Epic work type is not set in you Settings, choose Manage work types.
3. Click +Add work type in the left-side panel.
4. Modify this work type with selecting the right fields.
5. Now you can create an Epic right on your board. Add summary and description if necessary, assign responsible members.
6. Open your Epic and choose to create child issues linked to this Epic.
7. Add Planyway for Jira to Atlassian Marketplace to manage Epics visually.
8. Drag and drop Epics to the timeline view to schedule and assign. The timeline can be grouped by team members, projects, components, and teams.
9. You can also group your timeline by Epics to clearly see workflow of your projects from the Epic perspective.
