How to create sprint in Jira?

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create a sprint in Jira:

  1. Navigate to the Backlog tab.
  2. Click on Create sprint to initiate a new iteration.
  3. Drag work items from the Backlog to the create sprint.
  4. If you want to edit your sprint, click on the three-dot menu. Here you can change name, set dates, and define the sprint goal.
  5. You can add new work items right in the sprint as well, just click +Create at the bottom of the list.
  6. Choose the work item type (bug, task, etc.), link to the epic, assign team members.
  7. Don't forget to start your sprint when time comes by clicking Start sprint. Set dates to start and end.
  8. Once you're ready, click Complete sprint.
  9. To manage sprint visually you can add Planyway for Jira plugin on Atlassian Marketplace.
  10. With Planyway you can see how work items are distributed by sprints.
