Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 29, 2026
This document applies to Planyway for Jira Cloud. For other Planyway products, see Privacy Policy.
1. Background
Planyway for Jira Cloud is an app for Jira Cloud built on the Atlassian Forge platform. Rsoftware LLP ("Rsoftware") operates the app («Service») and the planyway.com website («Site»).
Throughout this policy, when we write “Planyway” or «we» or «us», we’re referring to Rsoftware.
The key point: Jira project and issue content and the app data are stored in Jira and in the Atlassian infrastructure; project and issue content is not copied to Planyway servers. Planyway receives usage and diagnostic data, limited user and account information described below, and information you choose to submit through surveys, feedback, newsletters, and support.
If you do not agree with this policy, do not access or use our Service.
2. Minors
We do not knowingly collect information from minors. To use the Service, you must be the age of legal majority in your place of residence. If we learn that a minor has submitted information to us, we delete the information as soon as possible.
3. Information we process
3.1 Data that stays in Atlassian
The Service reads and writes Jira data through Atlassian APIs to display timelines, workload, calendars and time tracking. The app settings are stored in the Atlassian Forge storage. This data is processed within the Atlassian infrastructure under the Atlassian agreements and privacy policy: https://www.atlassian.com/legal/privacy-policy.
The Service stores in the Atlassian Forge storage:
- User settings: per-user app preferences and a global settings snapshot.
- Shared workspaces: workspace records (name, owner, settings, membership) for shared planner configurations.
- Billing rates: per-user hourly rates and the site finance currency.
- Shared settings links: encoded settings payloads behind share tokens.
No user content (tasks, worklogs) is stored in the Forge storage — planning data lives in Jira issue/entity properties.
3.2 Usage and diagnostic data
When you use the Service, we collect:
- Usage events: which features of the Service are used and how. Event properties are declared in advance; Jira content, tokens and secrets are masked before sending. The Jira site domain is kept.
- Diagnostic data: error details, performance metrics and request names with masked identifiers.
- Identifiers: Atlassian account ID, site domain
- Profile data: language, time zone.
- License data: license type and app installation date.
- Approximate location (country and city), derived at the time of the request. We do not store IP addresses.
3.3 Information you send us
- Name, email address.
- Onboarding survey answers and feedback messages.
- Email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter.
- Messages and contact details you share in the support chat (Intercom). To identify you in the chat, Planyway sends your name, email address, Atlassian account ID, Jira site domain, app platform and type, app version, license type, hosting and your account creation date to Intercom.
3.4 Payments
Licenses are purchased through the Atlassian Marketplace. Planyway does not receive or store your payment information.
3.5 Cookies
Our Site uses cookies. More information in our Cookie Notice.

5. Legal basis
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK or Switzerland, we process usage and diagnostic data based on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service; support and license data to perform our agreement with you; newsletters based on your consent. More details are in Planyway and GDPR. California residents can find details in Planyway and CCPA.
6. Disclosure
We only disclose Personal Data to third parties when:

- Disclosure is required by law or to respond to lawful requests by public authorities.

7. International Transfer
Usage, diagnostic and support data is processed by our service providers in the United States. Transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK and Switzerland rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where the provider is certified) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Data Retention
Diagnostic telemetry stored in Microsoft Application Insights is retained for up to 3 months. Product analytics stored in Amplitude is retained for up to 12 months. Identifiable usage and analytics data stored by Planyway is generally retained for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
We may retain aggregated or irreversibly anonymized historical statistics for longer, including indefinitely. Certain records may be retained for longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
9. Security
More information about our security practices is in Security.
10. Access Requests
You can request access to, correction or deletion of your Personal Data that Planyway holds. Send a request to support@planyway.com with your full name, email address, Jira site address and what you would like to request. We will respond within one month of receipt of the request.
Data stored in Jira and in the Atlassian infrastructure is managed by your Jira site administrator and Atlassian.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after the changes are posted constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
